Rockville Train Show 2011 Show Report
We had maximum train action at the Rockville Train Show! Three tracks and 3-6 trains at a time
lead to lots of running time for all!
We had a 36’ x 14’ O gauge layout
and Ed Beaver led the Standard
Gauge layout in the adjoining room
along with “Loco Doctor” John
Grisham.
Most of the setup occurred Friday evening. A special thanks to Ed Beaver and Dave Sealing for
renovating the hi-rail, three track corners. Ed also added corner guards to each side of the half
corner sections to protect them from damage during storage and transportation. Each corner
provided power to the middle track. As the corners and most modules already had three
tracks, the setup for three track action was minimal. This setup ran flawlessly!
The center track was reserved for conventional running but also accommodated additional
TMCC users. Trains started to run by 9:30 Saturday morning.
We had many well decorated
modules. Chris Herndon provided
several great looking modules and a
siding.
Jeff Talaga not only participated in the show, along with junior engineer Casey but also pulled
the trailer to and from the show.
Thanks to Mike Fistere for providing the three track compatible geezer gate and for his
flexibility during setup. It was heartwarming to know that Chuck and Michelle Pestacchi
actually took Friday off to drive from Philadelphia to setup and attend the show. That’s
dedication!
Honorable mentions to other module providers include Bob Bitzer, Matt Panagos, and the
return of Rockville Train show veteran Tony “need for speed” Duncanson. We also had nine
Virginia Trackers come by to run and joining in on the fun.

Takedown was completed in one hour and fifteen minutes. Thanks to all and see you at next
years’ Rockville Train Show!
