Dear Fellow Trackers,
As you are all aware by now, the centerpiece of the York layout this fall will
be our own interpretation of the famous Triple Crossing in Richmond, Va. A
purpose built module is being constructed which will contain the 3 bridges
necessary to accomplish the triple crossover. It is planned to be a 4′ square,
which will leave substantial room for scenery. To capture the general feel
“Downtown Richmond”, we are going to be scenic’ing this module as a city. To
this end, I am asking for signups to loan a building to the effort.
We are going to use only MTH Railking city buildings. I have reviewed the MTH
Database, and the following building types are what we are looking for:
3 Story City building (with or without additional floors)
4 story building
5 story building
6 story building
Corner store
Opposite corner store
Single story corner store
Single story opposite corner store
Department store
Movie theater
Bank
Bus station
Fast Food stand
These buildings were selected because they have integral sidewalks which will
complete the cohesive look. They are also relatively inexpensive and appear
plentiful in the club. If you are going to York, whether you have modules or
not, you are welcome to sign up to loan a building.
I will be collecting the loaned buildings in late August (around the time of
Chantilly Greenberg’s) to plan out the street map. I will then return the
building to you at the September Tracker meeting. It is then up to you to bring
the building to York for Wednesday setup, and bring it home on Saturday after
the show. I dont have the room to safely transport everyone’s buildings to York.
If interested, please email me (justinkrause001@gmail.com) with the name of the
building (Salt and Batter Restaurant, etc…), the item number (if you know it
or can find it), or, at the minimum, what type of building it is, as listed
above. Due to space constraints, please sign up for one building. If you are
signing up with the movie theater, bus station or fast food stand, please also
provide an alternative if possible… Those 3 have rather large footprints and
using more than one is not practical. It may be possible to add more tablespace
behind the module if signup demands more space. If feasible, I am going to
attempt to electrify the module so that all the lights and signs work. Plan on
supplying your own feed wires (included in the building box or similar), to
connect the building lights.
As a reminder, this is not as a substitute for doing scenery on your own module.
A module in the York show is not required for this project, but you MUST be
going to York and signed up for black hall access on Regis’ online signup form.
Thanks,
Justin Krause
